'Berawinnia' is a 2 acre triangle of remnant and revegetated bush near McLaren Vale, South Australia. Tucked away behind giant river red gums and threaded with an ancient creek bed, it was once part of an 80 acre Soldier Settler farm named 'Berawinnia' which has been in my family for almost a century.

Over the past 20 years we have sculpted this bush block with networks of paths and bridges leading to multi-purpose structures that are sympathetic with the environment.

The name 'Berawinnia' came from 'Berawinnia Downs' – a pastoral property in the far northwest of New South Wales, which my grandfather, Cyril Robertson managed with his parents before WW1. At the time, Berawinnia Downs was owned by the “cattle king”, Sir Sidney Kidman.
